This Izzo aluminum surdo comes standard with a 190 micron thick white P2 head. Its diameter is 18" and can usually be used as a third or double surdo. Its height is 45 cm, a common size for Bahia instruments. This surdo has 8 tension points and high quality chrome hardware that will allow you to give high tension to the instrument. Its weight is approximately 4.3 kg and the Izzo reference is IZ7996.
If you prefer to have fewer harmonics, we recommend installing a double-layer drumhead or gluing foam to the inside of the surdo under the beater head. This technique is widely used by some Afro blocos from Salvador de Bahia (Brazil).
